You may not hear from me for a few days as we are packing up the kids & dog and flying to Winnipeg for our annual summer vacation at the family cottage. It will be quite a bit different this time around as this is our first trip to the cottage where neither my mom or dad will be with us :(
We are still saddened by their passing and though my father has been gone for over 3 years and my mom for almost 6 months, we certainly do not miss them any less. The cabin is such a vivid reminder or their spirits and of our memories of them. It will feel good to be at the cottage and reminisce about all of the traditions and good times of summers gone by but it will also be incredibly difficult as the void they have left can never be replaced.
We shall carry on the traditions and no doubt create new ones of our own with our young family, my sister, brother-in-law and their son along with our battery of friends who are as close to family as they come.
We will raise a glass (or 2) in their honor and do our best to uphold the values, work ethic and sense of family they instilled in us. We love you & miss you T&H XOXOXO
Now that I can barely see the computer screen through my tears, I will quickly update you on RK’s … my facebook group has grown to 49 members, I’m taking several file folders with me in an attempt to sift through products and start drafting up orders, I’m eagerly anticipating an email from my designer any minute now with a final business card design … he is also mocking up a home page among other things for my “in construction” website. I had a fabulous meeting with a supplier this morning who I am keen to work with … slowly but surely things are coming together.
Well, as usual, the kids are packed, the dog is packed and my hubby threw his stuff into a suitcase last night but yours truly must finish her own packing. I hope to blog a bit while on vaca … preferably from the dock with a cold beverage in hand.
I’m off,
Sue
