It feels like forever that we have been redesigning our landing page to give it more of the RK’s fresh, healthy, fun look and feel that we envision. The mock ups are very close and we are in the last round of changes (is the “final” version of anything really ever the “final” version?) so the new look should be up within days.
The landing page will feature a few teaser products and give viewers the opportunity to sign up for our free newsletter and in doing so they will be entered to win a $100 RK’s gift card.
Note to self: Start designing/writing the first ever Raspberry Patch newsletter.
We have also signed off on the eventual homepage so the overall design of the site is well underway. We just need a few inside pages and product description pages and it should all come together quite quickly. The next challenge will be integrating the payment gateway and shipping options.
On the back end, we have been busy trying to navigate our way through our e-commerce solution. The up side is that there is a ton of cool web 2.0-ish functionality, the downside is, the more the system can do, the more fields we need to populate for each product.
We have entered a few and still aren’t sure they have been entered correctly and are no doubt missing tons of fields that are relevant. At this point, there is no use in entering more products until we figure out the best way to do so. Since we have been buying lots of stock, the file folder labelled “to build” is getting rather thick. This may call for a night of munchies, wine and product building with a group of friends. Any takers?

P.S. The wine is served AFTER the product is built or we will have bibs & burps displaying in the decor category!
