Have nothing on the Raspberry Kids elves! Check out these eager beavers slogging away at Mommy’s sweatshop! In actuality, Jamie made a game out of pushing boxes while someone else (not mentioning any names, RILEY!) was sleeping on the job!
While I have been known to “crack the whip” from time to time, I do not actually believe in putting my children to work until they are at least 5 ;-). I could argue that the kids should already be on my payroll as they are the best product testers and models going.
While they are not officially employees of Raspberry Kids and in lieu of pay, they occasionally get to pick out products from Mommy’s store. Most recently, Jamie picked out Esther the Bunny and Riley selected Nigel the Shark backpacks. The tough part is sometimes explaining to them that not ALL of the toys are for them or that every “princess dress” is not for Jamie’s burgeoning closet.
My sister and I were always expected to “earn our keep” and my husband and I believe this is an important lesson and family value to pass along to our kids.
On that note, it is almost my quitting time for the day. Buenos noches to one and all. (Yes, I have been watching too much Dora lately!)
