Cool Customer: Shannon

Our Cool Customer feature captures the essence of some of our amazing customers. We are so grateful for each and every customer that chooses to support Raspberry Kids and this segment allows us to introduce you to some of our brand champions who help spread the “word of mom” about us!   Are you interested in being profiled as one of our cool customers? We would LOVE to hear from you! Email us at: coolcustomers@raspberrykids.com

RK:
Tell us a little about your Raspberry Kids?

SO: My little berries are a boy and girl that are nearly 4 and 2 respectively. They are two of the sweetest little people with big friendly smiles and cozy hugs. They are very kind and loving and love to play.

RK: What is your definition of “Cool”?

SO: Cool to me is something that makes me feel good, that has something different about it.  Something with zest!

RK: What is your fave activity to do with the mini me(s) in your life?

SO: I love to go to the park to slide on the slides, swing on the swings or teeter-totter.  Granville Island is also top of my list because of the Kids Only activities, all of the birds to feed and the great food to eat.
RK Note: We love Granville Island as well! Especially since it is in our very own front yard and just a hop and a skip from our warehouse!

RK: Of all the products we carry, what is “the one” you dig the most?

SO: Gosh, that is hard to narrow down.  I love Sprig toys…the diggers are awesome and the Sea Plane is something that my son now has his eye on.  The stainless steel dishes, cups and straws are fantastic.  I don’t have to worry about putting them through the dishwasher and they’re very durable as well as being safe for the kids to eat from/with.  Thanks to Raspberry kids for having so many great snack containers and environmentally friend options!
RK Note: Awe shucks! We are blushing.  Thank you so much Shannon. We put in countless hours to source and test all of our litterless lunch concepts and are very proud of the growing selection that we carry.

Onyx Straws

RK: Tell us about your proudest moment as a parent to date?  Don’t hold back, go on and gush!

SO: My proudest moment(s) as a parent are watching my children play together and that they really love being together.  They are buddies and I hope they will always cherish their connection as siblings.

RK: Did you find that sleeping when the baby slept wasn’t really possible (ie. when you have an older sib running around)?  If you could give one piece of REAL advice to expectant mothers, what would it be?

SO: I definitely found it hard to nap with each of my sleeping babies.  I have never been the best at sleeping during the day so that was a disadvantage for me.  Even when I only had one baby and could have slept if I was able…no such luck.  Once the second child arrived there wasn’t so much of an option to sleep because I had to be awake for our toddler.  I was definitely a bit deliriously tired!

The best advice is to know that not all advice applies to everyone.  Don’t be so hard on yourself and just trust your instincts.  No one knows your baby like you do so follow your heart.
RK Note: Great advice!

RK:  Time to lay on the sap.  What does being a mom mean to you?

SO: Being a Mom is summed up by one of my favourite quotes:

“Making the decision to have a child is momentous … It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
~ Elizabeth Stone

Being a Mom definitely makes me more vulnerable and prone to sentimental tearing up.  Most importantly it has brought me so much love.

RK: What is/are your favorite aspect(s) of shopping with Raspberry Kids?

SO: I love the convenience.  With two young children it really isn’t relaxing to wander through a store and browse.  With Raspberry Kids I can have a look through the website when it is convenient for me and there are quality items that suit my needs.  When I’m looking for something it is a go-to-place!

RK: Close your eyes and fantasize about your life “PK” (pre-kids), what do you miss the most?

SO: I miss having a bit of time to myself and being able to travel at a whim … that said, I know how lucky I am to have these little people, so I’m happy to have had the time to travel before I had them and as they grow a little bit we will be able to do more of that as a family.  A new style of travel!

RK: What blogs do you fancy?

SO: I’m not a huge blogger, but I do love www.kellehampton.com- Kelle Hampton’s blog called ‘enjoying the small things’… so precious.

RK: Which word from our tagline would you use to describe yourself?  Fresh?  Healthy?  or Fun?  and why?

SO: Hmmmm, maybe Fresh…since I like vibrant, fresh, lively things!

RK: To wrap things up, please tell our readers what your personal 3 word tagline is!

SO: Good questions…you’re really making me think here!
I suppose a tagline would be ‘Touch The Sky’… something that I want my children to always try to do!

RK: Do you have any comments about the questionnaire? Things you love? Things you don’t like so much? This is a brand new feature so let us know!

SO: This is a well thought out questionnaire that has really made me sit down and think before I answer.  It’s well done.
RK Note: Thank you so much Shannon! We really appreciate you taking the time to be one of our Cool Customers.
