Another year has flown by at Raspberry Kids Headquarters. The kids and I are another year older and they are growing like weeds! Every time I turn around, my son’s pants are too short and he looks like he is going clam digging.
The same could be said for our business as we’ve experienced more growth in 2011. Our warehouse is busting at the seams despite our creative use of storage. We have products in the shower, in the kitchen cupboards, even in the warming compartment of the stove in the current live/work space and so one of our first priorities for 2012 is finding a new home that we can grow into.
We added an incredible amount of products this year totally over 30 new brands such as P’kolino, Flip & Tumble, Oxo Tot, Topozoo, Tegu, Le Toy Van and hundreds of new individual products from new and existing brands. We also added an entire new Lotions & Potions category with organic sunscreen, body care, hair care, lip balms and more from favorite brands like Green Beaver and eco.kid. We adore one of our local supplier’s in Coco & Tini and of course we rocked the eco-friendly kids nail polish with Hopscotch Kids and Scotch Naturals for the adults with their gorgeous water based salon quality nail polish.

One of our missions as you know is to continue to source unique and high quality products and bring them to the Canadian market and the Raspberry Kids collection. We vow to continue this mission, albeit with a reduced pace this year.
Raspberry Kids took part in several charitable and giving programs including our most recent effort with Union Gospel Mission that enabled us to donate not just items from the Give-A-Days campaign but many other items we felt would be put to good use and would come in handy for families in need.
We implemented fundraising programs for schools who are looking for different ways to raise funds than their standard book drives and chocolate campaigns. Our fundraising initiatives included select products such as Lunchskins and Vapurs but also extended to our entire catalogue in some circumstances.
We worked closely with our amazing suppliers to get you what you needed, when you needed it, including special orders from companies like Plan Toys, Dwell Studio and so on. This is something to bear in mind for the future as it isn’t possible for us to carry every product from every line but we are more than happy to bring items in for you when possible!

We were excited to re-launch this very blog this year and bring our awesome community some extra features in an attempt to add more value to being a part of the Raspberry Kids tribe. We loved learning more about our Cool Customers and providing insight into some of the companies and artists we work with through our Supplier Spotlights. We also truly love giving back and engaging with you via our Flash Friday Giveaways (which will resume in January btw!) and of course we had so much fun finding cool things to highlight or showcase in our . Some industry folks had encouraged us to self nominate for the Small Business BC Successful You awards and after a bit of prodding, we complied. We are really pleased to have made it to the next step of the process and have been working over the holidays to pull together our extended application in the hopes of reaching the top 5 in our category. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to vote to get us this far!
We often comment to one another about just HOW.AMAZING.OUR.CUSTOMERS.ARE! We have raving fans for what we do and keep so motivated and inspired to continue building Raspberry Kids. Word of Mom referrals are absolutely fabulous and something we need to grow and be able to do even more exciting things in the future. We appreciate how our customers consume conscientiously and how they choose to support small businesses who strive to innovate and who sell quality products. We truly love serving each and every one of you and look forward to the opportunity to continue to do so in 2012 and beyond.
Over the holidays we paused a bit to catch our breath, spend some quality time with friends and family and re-group as we get ready for a brilliant and exciting year ahead.
